Hello there!

It has been a long time since I've sent out an email update, over 14 months in fact. A lot has happened in that time so I'll catch you up on the big news. If you don't know, I had a baby! After 3.5 years of infertility treatments and 5 previous miscarriages, we had Baby Henry.

The pregnancy was difficult due to my recurrent losses that required me to be on many medications to remain pregnant, I developed gestational diabetes and high blood pressure. And at 29 weeks I started to show signs of preeclampsia. Our goal was to stay pregnant until 34 weeks, but my preeclampsia was severe and Henry was born on January 29th, 2022 at 30 weeks and 6 days old. He was 3 pounds exactly and our world was forever changed.

Henry spent the next 7 weeks in the NICU to develop his lungs, learn to eat and he even fought an infection at 10 days old which required a blood transfusion. My husband Marc and I were there everyday, and the whole admission seems like a blur now.

On March 3rd, Henry was discharged home at 3 pounds 6 ounces. He was still not out of the woods with his heart and lungs, so he came home on a monitor and I took over his medical care. I feel very lucky that my medical background helped us get him home more quickly.

Over the next several months, Henry has grown (15 pounds and 2 ounces now!), developed beautifully and is such a sweet baby. Everyone that meets him is enamored both with his adorable features and calm disposition. Being his Mom is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Since the Summer, Henry has gone to California to meet family, and just last week went to Pennsylvania and NYC! We're very excited to see where we'll take him next and continue sharing our journey with you all. I can't thank you enough for the incredible support and love you've shown our family over the past year.
